Partnering with institutions for learner impact

How we recognize, manage and share our educational experiences matters more than ever.

The Trusted Learner Network was built to serve as a trusted, low-cost utility for higher education, empowering learners to collect, manage and share their verified achievements with confidence and control.

And while the TLN started at Arizona State University six years ago, that is not where our story ends. We’re excited to announce that we’re actively searching for our first five institutions to partner with, to expand the digital credentialing ecosystem, to give learners and earners the agency they deserve to collect, explore and transfer digital credentials that they’ve gathered across their lifetimes.

What the TLN does

The TLN platform is more than just a credential repository. It is a learner-first, future-ready digital credentialing ecosystem designed to support institutions with their credentialing infrastructure while creating meaningful value for students. Designed for data longevity, mobility and insight, the TLN provides a secure space for students to consolidate achievements and connect to services that recognize their potential — on their terms.

Our TLN platform allows institutions to collect digital credentials in a single, safe and accessible repository. Students can manage what they share, with whom and when — placing consent at their fingertips. The system integrates seamlessly with institutional infrastructure and enables credentials to be portable, interoperable and aligned with global standards.

Why partner with the TLN

Implementing the Trusted Learner Network is a strategic move to modernize an institution’s approach to learner recognition. Through partnership, institutions gain access to:

  • Advanced tools to upgrade records management
  • Opportunities to strengthen student affinity and institutional pride
  • Support for student reflection and metacognitive growth
  • Career-ready, portable credentials that travel with the learner
  • Alignment with global standards and future-proof standards
  • A low-cost, scalable solution made possible by philanthropic investment

But the true value goes beyond technology. The TLN drives impact in four key areas:

  • Self-reflection and metacognition – Enabling learners to better understand and articulate their growth
  • Institutional affinity – Strengthening the bond between students and their institution
  • Student confidence – Enhancing students’ ability to pursue career opportunities
  • Career impact – Supporting better job placement and employer recognition

What partnership looks like

Becoming a TLN partner involves a collaborative, phased approach.

  • Institutions form a cross-functional team including leadership, student services, registrars and technology teams.
  • The foundation phase involves identifying target learner groups, defining credentialing goals, securing an MOU, and embedding the repository in existing systems.
  • In the execution phase, institutions integrate credential data, set up single sign-on, build communications, and officially launch the TLN — alongside joining our governance community to co-shape what’s next.

Thanks to philanthropic support, we are offering implementation assistance and support to help institutions launch successfully. We are seeking partners to begin implementation by Fall 2025, with most partners launching within 3-6 months. Our mission is to lower cost barriers, scale access and gather evidence of what works so we can continuously refine the student experience and co-design the future of credentialing.
